Show Hire The Power To Communicate

Our Work

BBC

The Objective

BBCThe BBC’s Research & Development department recently contacted Show Hire with a power sourcing problem. They required a range of generators to provide power to site equipment whilst filming in remote areas, away from any other stable power source. The generators had to be quiet-running sets which were small enough to lift, yet powerful enough to produce 2,600 watts of power. The sets were also required to run for long periods of time without the need for constant refuelling.

The Solution

The solution was the Honda EU26i. This is one of four Honda generators in our small unit range that are all quiet-running inverter generators. These produce a clean steady power feed, ideal for electronic equipment which can be adversely affected by unstable power sources.

The EU26i will run for 24 hours on a single tank (depending on the load) and produce a staggeringly low 49dB(a) at 7m @ 1/4 load. It produces 2.6Kva output through 2 x16 amp outlets. It also produces 12v power which can be used in a variety of circumstances including recharging camera and AV batteries.

The full Honda EU range is available to hire direct from Show Hire. You can view the range, prices and full specifications on our equipment hire pages. Alternatively, please feel free to Contact Us directly if you would like advice on this or any other matter.
